Milan, Italy 2026
Goppion is no stranger to projects that sit at the intersection of retail, design and visitor experience. Among our repeat clients in this fast-evolving territory is RH, formerly known as Restoration Hardware.
RH is a huge success story, a benchmark name in the luxury home sector. Established in California in 1979, the company has evolved from its niche origins as a vintage homeware store to become a global luxury brand, offering high-end furnishings, lighting and interior design. Over time, RH has redefined itself as a brand that doesn’t sell hardware, it sells lifestyle.
Today, the company is expanding globally, building wider renown for its immersive ‘Design Galleries’. These attractive spaces blend retail, dining and design services, transforming them into leading local destinations. Fittingly, Milan was selected as the location for the brand’s flagship Italian gallery and store, which opened in spring 2026, in the historic Palazzo del Principe di Piombino (Prince’s Palace of Piombino). RH Milano has over 5,500 m² of interior space, plus a courtyard and a large garden, which provides a green haven for visitors amid the city centre buzz.
Goppion previously worked with RH at their UK launch venue, the historic Aynhoe Park estate in Oxfordshire, where we produced display cases for the library and public gallery spaces. For the Milan project, we have designed, built and delivered six new wall-standing display cases with custom interior mounts, and four open cabinets.

An innovative aspect of the design assist work is the development of a cantilevered shelf integrated within the display case, requiring a custom solution.
Together, these display cases house a variety of valuable objects, including rare first-edition books, and in the future will host other rotating displays. Our vitrines and open cabinets are positioned directly at the new store’s main entrance, ensuring maximum visibility.
Hybrid environments combining heritage, retail and dining continue to drive a rapidly growing global market. Despite – or even because of – our increasingly digital lives, people place great value in real experiences. Brands such as RH continue to lead the way in fusing dining, retail and cultural storytelling to increase dwell time and emotional engagement. Goppion’s innovative mindset, and our experience in this sector, means we can provide design solutions that work just as effectively in the world of lifestyle as in traditional museum and gallery environments.
