Roma, Facoltà di Architettura a Valle Giulia - Conference: Museum Engineering Technology, 6th May 2005

06 May 2005

The conference has been organized by AICARR (Associazione italiana Condizionamento dell’Aria, Riscaldamento e Refrigerazione – Italian Air Conditioning, Heating and Cooling Association), in collaboration with the Università La Sapienza University, and its central theme was the conservation of art works in museums – both as prevention of potential damage caused by the human presence and the environment, and as restoration – and the growing importance of environment control and climate control engineering as problem solving sciences for museums.

Alessandro Goppion and Cesare Maria Joppolo, in charge of the Laboratorio di Ventilazione e Condizionamento Ambientale del Politecnico di Milano (Air circulation and environmental conditioning at Milan’s Polytechnic), have delivered a paper on the display case made for Leonardo’s Gioconda, at the Louvre Museum.
