Oriental arts museum in Paris opens today

The 15th June 2005 Bertrand Delanoë, mayor of Paris, and Moïra Guilmart, assistant of the mayor, person in charge of the Patrimony, have inaugurated Cernuschi museum, reopened to public after a restoration lasted approximately three years and half.
From 1896, year in which has been donated from Enrico Cernuschi to the city, this museum of the Asian arts of Paris had not been object of renewal works.
The firm "Architecture & Associés" of Paris has been charged of the planning and the Laboratorio museotecnico Goppion took care of the conception and the realization of the display cases.
The museum specializes in the art and archaeology of ancient China, from its earliest beginnings to the 13th century.
The major periods of this fascinating civilization are evoked through a series of masterpieces and show pieces.
With more than 2000 works exposed, the Cernuschi Museum is the second museum of Asian art in France and the fifth museum of Chinese art in Europe.
