Goppion would like to congratulate Trento’s MUSE museum for having won the prestigious European Museum Academy – the Luigi Micheletti Award 2014.

Created and managed by the European Museum Academy and the Luigi Michelettii Foundation in Brescia, the prize is given each year to a museum that has distinguished itself for innovation in contemporary history, industry and science.

The award, which is in its 19th year, was given to MUSE’s director Michele Lanzinger at the official ceremony, which was held at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow on Saturday, April 26.

MUSE, which was designed by Renzo Piano and which relied on Goppion as its fit-out contractor in collaboration with Trento’s Asteria (for graphics and multimedia) and Acuson from Turin (for hardware), was chosen from among 28 candidates.

The museum won the award not just for its great museological features but because of the attention the museum personnel pays to its visitors, to citizenship programs, to the Web and social networks, to prestigious research programs and to overall optimal organization. MUSE distinguished itself especially for the way it has known how to make a direct and indirect economic impact thanks to its success in terms of number of visitors, its important educational programs and its charitable functions in the Trento community.

Also of great importance are the various initiatives that aim to spread scientific knowledge and the diversified cultural offerings for the citizens that frequent the museum daily. Citizens that consider it to be a cultural institution that is very accessible and aware of its collective function.
