We are thrilled to report that the IBM Quantum System Two has been awarded the iF Design Gold Award. Developed by Universal Design Studio alongside the IBM team and Map Project Office, IBM Quantum System Two exemplifies a seamless fusion of innovation and functionality.
The IBM Quantum System Two exemplifies a seamless fusion of innovation and functionality. Its modular design allows for future growth, with subtle breaks in the monolithic form hinting at scalability. The architecture is both visually striking and highly efficient. Familiar elements in the design create a strong connection to its predecessor, enhancing the user experience while positioning the system for the future.
iF Gold Statement
Goppion engineered the metal and glass cladding around the central enclosure housing the cryostat and the quantum processor, and surrounding electronics. We also provided custom-made cabinets, the partially reflective glass corners that define the system’s space, as well as the LED ceiling suspended from above the entire system footprint, which illuminates the space.
