Goppion works on the exhibition design at the new Cooper Hewitt museum in New York
15 Dec 2014
The Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York reopened to the public on December 12, having undergone a complete renovation of its landmarked building and a reconceptualization of the display of its important collections of historic and contemporary design. Goppion collaborated with Cooper Hewitt staff and architects Diller Scofidio+Renfro on the design of the cases.
Once again, Goppion is lending its name to a prestigious Smithsonian Institution. It has a longstanding, established collaborative relationship with the organization - with projects realized for the National Museum of the American Indian in New York (2010) and the Postal Museum in Washington, D.C. (2013). For Cooper Hewitt we have provided display cases, wall cases, various display accessories and other design elements for one of the most important temples of design in the world.
We believe that the spirit with which we took on this great adventure, our philosophy, the way we work and the excellent construction of our pieces are perfectly represented in the information panel that
the museum so kindly dedicated to us.
