Goppion Museum Workshop - A new era for Goppion in North America
Press Release – 11 May 2021
As the world starts to re-emerge and re-open, Goppion is excited to announce a substantial expansion of our North American business development and technical support capabilities. Joining Ted Paschkis at our Boston, MA, headquarters this May will be Michael Oliveras and Robie MacLaughlin.
Michael brings 35 years of experience in business development and technical sales, most recently supplying museums, architects and designers with high-end display, artistic and way-finding graphics. He has a background in architectural and theatrical design and lighting system engineering.
Robie will be managing Goppion Museum Workshop’s installation, technical support and operational activities. With degrees in engineering and business, he has led teams in mechanical and systems design, manufacturing, field installation and service. A West Point graduate, Robie brings a passion for excellence and service to the company’s technical organization.
Goppion will also be expanding our physical presence with a new office/workspace and warehouse. This will improve the speed and quality of installations by allowing us to perform pre-installation inspections and material staging. In addition, new storage space for a robust stock of parts and accessories here in the US will considerably shorten response times for service and repair issues.
For more than 60 years, Goppion has worked with our partners in design and conservation to create the world’s most advanced vitrines, for the preservation of our most precious cultural treasures. During that time, we have also acquired a unique understanding of the museum environment, the challenges and rewards of public exhibitions, and the process of using artifacts to create an engaging story for the viewer.
Recently, we have been engaged by several clients and exhibition designers to provide “wrap around” services that are a natural extension of our core casework competency. In response, Goppion has built a team of highly skilled engineers and designers who approach these new offerings with the same innovation, intensity and collaborative design process that makes us unique in the industry.
These services include:
- Macro-environment technical, functional and aesthetic design.
- Exhibit fabrication.
- Exhibit graphics.
- Interactive technology.
- Maintenance and refurbishment.
