Goppion at SITEM 2017 in Paris: the “Intelligent Display Case” that looks to the future

01 Dec 2016

Goppion will attend the latest edition of the Salon international des musées, des lieux de culture et de tourisme SITEM in Paris, a not-to-be-missed international review of innovative solutions for museums, with a stand of its own.

During the event, which will be held January 10-12, 2017 at the Docks along the Seine at the Cité de la Mode et du Design (www.museumexperts.com), Goppion will focus on the future of museums.

Goppion’s latest creation, the Intelligent Display Case, will be the featured protagonist from among the company’s many products. This innovation was conceived in the wake of the industrial revolution that is known as the ‘Internet of Things’ or Industry 4.0, which allows the addition of digital content to products that conventionally had none.

Goppion had the insight to combine a wide range of technologies, including lighting, analysis of relative humidity, temperature, security and, last but not least, air quality, into a single application that is capable of managing all these parameters intelligently.

If intelligence is the capacity to respond to events, then this is what the intelligent display case does. It is not “merely” a window, but a highly advanced system that is both technologically sophisticated and easy to use. The case is fitted with sensors designed to record the environmental parameters of the internal volume and to control the functional requirements of the locks. The case can respond by restoring the conditions set by the operator and, in case of anomalies or worse still, attempts at tampering, it sends an e-mail or sms alert to the museum staff who can intervene in real time.

All data can be accessed from an application for tablet or smartphone, and can be consulted through dynamic graphs that relate and compare various parameters. The technology used is low cost, open source, easily scalable and adaptable.

We look forward to seeing you at Sitem, stand B25-B27, January 10-12, 2017!
