Mechanically synchronized upper lock

The problem

Effective security requires each door to be fitted with two locks, one below and one above. The upper lock is almost always placed at a height and position that makes it problematic to reach.

The standard solution

A ladder is usually needed when a lock that is over two meters from the ground has to be reached and this may not always be possible owing to local safety restrictions. An electrically operated lock may be chosen as an alternative.

Goppion’s innovation

Aware of the need to make cases as user-friendly as possible and mindful of the importance of staff safety, we have devised an upper lock that is operated from below by means of a thin steel cable along the front edge, so that it is almost invisible. The advantage of this mechanical system lies in it eliminating the need for electric power, while ensuring the lock is easily accessible.
