Display case with separate climate-controlled chambers
Today’s contextualized, thematic displays often require arranging a collection of objects with varying conservation requirements and different ideal humidity levels in a single, large case.
The standard solution
Objects with special requirements are often separated from others under a glass bonnet that becomes a “display case within a display case”, but this is not an ideal solution as the extra layers of glass often make the enclosed object harder to see.
Goppion has devised a concept for a system that creates separate microclimates within the same display area without the need for physical barriers. Apparatus set into the edge of the display case will generate one-directional or laminar air flows with specific characteristics and project them in the desired direction. This concept is undergoing further development.
