Concealed active magnetic gasket

The problem

Because glass is an elastic material, vertical panes can be subject to distortion due to the weight of the glass itself. This distortion has an inevitable effect on the degree of compression exerted on the sealing gaskets, reducing their effectiveness.

The standard solution

Gaskets made of elastic material (silicone gums) are generally used to counteract this tendency, although they are not always entirely successful.

Goppion’s innovation

Goppion has developed a self-compressing active magnetic gasket fitted with a bellows that adapts to the edge of the pane, even when it is not perfectly flat or straight. In addition, we specially mill the edges of the glass doors so as to conceal the magnetic gaskets within the thickness of the panes, thus making them inaccessible from outside and increasing the case’s security.
